Old vintage antique teddy bear. Vintage Chad Valley teddy bear.Oswald is a characterful 15 inch vintage teddy bear made by the English company Chad Valley His tag dates him to being born in the 1930s as far as I can tell. Oswald is in an overall worn state , being largely bald, and having had numerous repairs over his long years. His paw pads have all had some re covering and his features may have been restitched. His eyes are glass in amber and black but would maybe have originally been “boot button” eyes ? His claws are all but worn away, but it looks as if he had four claws on his bottom paws, and three on his top ?Oswald is 5 way jointed with secure joints.however as is to be expected , his head is a bit loose and the arm/leg joints are a bit loose . He is soft stuffed , probably with kapok throughout his body, and his head is straw filled. He has an old, non working squeaker in his tummy too. All this being said, Oswald has character and style. He holds himself together well, despite or because of his years…Oswald is not intended to be used as a toy as he does not have the safety features associated with modern teddy bears.
