Antique Steiff jointed Lion soft toy with FF button. Pre War.
This regal looking Steiff lion is five ways jointed with all his joints working smoothly so he
can be positioned to sit or stand. He is firmly wood wood stuffed with a very good coverage
of his golden mohair with just a few small bare patches and a little overall thinning.
All of his original features are intact including his glass eyes, pink and black nose and mouth
stitching, three claws on each paw and an FF Steiff button in his left ear which dates him
to circa 1920’s-30’s. There is one small 1 cm split to the felt backing fabric by his neck joint
which is not visible as it is hidden by his mane and it is not under strain so is unlikely to get
any worse and there is no other damage apart from general playwear.
Measures 27 cm from his nose to the base of his tail and approximately 21 cm tall.
