Old Vintage Antique Jointed Chiltern Teddy BearMalcolm is a dear old vintage “dog nose” Chiltern teddy bear who stands at 17 inches tall. He has obviously been well loved and cherished over his years.As noted in the sellers notes he is; Considerably love worn and aged. Has marks on paws, distressed paws. Age related marks. Sparse patchy plush coverage, is threadbare. Has visible seams and stitch work. One eye has a “fleck” through it.Malcolm has his original orange and black eyes, (which are not safety eyes). His nose is moulded black plastic, again not with safety features and has a stitched mouth. I believe this dates him to the 1950s.His pads are a nice soft chocolate brown velveteen material, but are distressed, and the two lower pads have marks on them.His head is filled with wood wool, his body seems to be a mixture of wood wool and possibly kapok, and his arms are soft filled.Malcolm has an old squeaker in his belly, but sadly this no longer works.He is jointed five ways with good joint connections for his age. His back is also threadbare with visible stitch work and patchy plush. He has no label these days.All this being said, Malcolm is a classic old bear with bags of character and a long history.Despite his fairly shabby condition he holds himself together well… Like any old English chap.Please study the photos carefully as they form part of the description.Malcolm is no longer suitable as a toy, he is a collectors item only.I post Monday – Friday as promptly as possible.
