Vintage 1940’s chocolate brown plush teddy bear.
Standing at 13″ tall with chocolate brown plush, this handsome teddy bear was made circa 1940-1950 and is in good condition with all his original features intact. He is quite heavy for his size and is very firmly stuffed with wood wool and five ways jointed with all his limbs turning easily so he can be nicely posed. I am not sure who made him but I am fairly sure he is Englishand he came with a little group of 1940’s bears, by other English makers, Pedigree, Chad Valley, Chiltern etc
Ted has a very good coverage of his brown art silk plush which has flattened with slight overall thinning and a couple of small
bare spots but I would estimate he has retained a good 95%+ coverage overall. All of his original features are intact, including his amber and black glass eyes and his pink cotton thread nose and mouth stitching. His cotton pads and carded feet are slightly worn but in good condition and there are no holes, damage or repairs and I was pleased to find that he still has a working growler which squeaks when he is tipped backwards.
