Muriel is a large Chad Valley bear dating to the 30’s – she has her original foot label. She has been through the wars, is far from perfect and looks distinctly better dressed than undressed – but don’t we all at nearly 90 years of age! Muriel is 22 inches tall and would have been fully jointed but her head has now been sewn in place. Shei s largely kapok stuffed with woodwool to her head and has lost most of her mohair – she is also watermarked and stained in places. Her footpads are original whilst her other pads are covered – they may be original underneath – I haven’t looked to see. Her most significan area of damage has been under her nose which has been stitched quite crudely. In spit of all of this damage she is quite a character and looks lovely in her old outfit – quite the Mother bear. she is definitely one for the lovers of tatty old teds with oodles of character – if you are looking for perfection she is not the girl for you xxx
Please be aware I am a lover of the tattier old teds with oodles of character so bear this mind before buying – no bear will be perfect – far from it – but I guarantee they are all perfectly adorable. I try to list every bear accurately – if there is anything I forget I can only apologise – I try to put plenty of photos up so please take a good look as these form part of the description. I happily post overseas but anything over 40 in value HAS to be tracked hence overseas postage may seem a lot – if postage is less than quoted I will happily refund the difference.
