~ Mr Silver Birch- Vintage Old Mystery Teddy Bear Hump & Painted Glass Eyes German?
This is Mr Silver Birch- or just Birchy to his friends :-)
He is an interesting, very intriguing old Teddy. I love Teddy Bears, and I love bears with character/shape/history. Birchy is amazing but a bit of a mystery!
I have no idea how old he is, or who made him but he’s so appealing. I can’t decide whether he is only slightly old, or if he’s really old but been really well looked after?
He is fully firmly stuffed with woodwool, fully jointed with facial and claw stitching ,with painted back glass eyes.
Birchy stands 13.5 inches tall, is a weighty bear covered in a silvery white blonde art silk mohair. He has lovely big feet, a strong nose with horizontal stitching and a big hump!
I’m really torn about who he is, he looks pretty German! I’m pretty sure someone out there will know who Burny is but either way, I think he’s lovely and looks wonderful sat on a shelf, and the little show off poses beautifully.
