Merrythought -1930s Bare Bingie ~ Old ~ Button ~ Antique Teddy Bear – In Clothes
This is Hilda Boldison. She’s a special Merrythought Ted as she’s whats known as a “Bare Bingie”. She was created in the early 1930’s and was specially designed so that she would be dressed! She has a brushed cotton body, legs and most of her arms. She has the remains of mohair, stitched facial features, glass eyes, cotton pads and card lined feet. Hilda stands 15.5 inches tall, is stuffed with kapok and woodwool – with very firm woodwool legs and is fully jointed. She’s dressed in her own little vintage outfit; jacket, knitted skirt and slippers and proudly retains the metal button to her ear.Hilda is a bit mischievous and does like to galivant around the garden and often get up to things she shouldn’t for a lady of nearly 90 years old! This is why she’s off to a new home to explore. She’s a really interesting teddy bear and would make a lovely addition to any hug.
