Loved 1940’s Pedigree? teddy bear. Sweet little ted but needs some TLC
Standing at just 11″ tall this sweet little teddy bear no longer has any labels but he looks a little like the toffee bears made by Farnell and Chad Valley although I think he is possibly a pedigree bear? He dates to circa 1940’s and
although he is a lovely looking bear, he does need a little tlc to repair a hole in his tummy and his foot pads although a little careful darning and a hand knitted jumper would be good enough to fix up this little bear.
Despite his damaged tummy, he is in fair condition with all his original features intact and I think he is stuffed with
cotton sub which was a popular post war stuffing using scraps from the textile industry and ted is five ways jointed with all his limbs turning easily so he can be nicely posed. He has a fair coverage of his golden mohair with overall
thinning and a few small bare areas which do not detract from his charm and character and I would estimate he has retained a 70%+ coverage overall. If you like your teddy bears loved with lots of charm and character then this is the bear for you.
