Ted was possibly made by The Chad Valley Co – I say thisfrom looking at others on ebay and he resemble those made by the Chad ValleyCompany more than any other. I was toldby my mother it was my Teddy so he dates from the early 1950s but I do notremember him so it may have been her Teddy which would date it to the 1930s. Icannot say for sure. Unfortunately teddy must have lost his eyes at one time andmy mother has sewn buttons but he does appear to have his original blackstitched nose and mouth. There are noother repairs. However he has a hole in the fabric at the front of his right ear as if something has been pulled off.
Hehas jointed head, arms and legs all well attached. There is dark blue corduroy. material on hispaws and feet all in good condition. Hehas no patches or holes but he is a bit grubby. He is a large bear and measures approximately 23″ in height to the top of his head. 25″ to the top of his ears. Arms 10″. Outside leg measurement 10″ and inside leg measurement 6.5″.
It feels that he is stuffed with a mixture of wood wool and kapok and hepossibly has a non working squeaker in his tummy as I can feel something smalland hard.
