Jonty | c1920’s – Old Antique German Teddy Bear
Introducing Jonty! He’s a handsome character dating to the 1920’s made in Germany.
He wears his old ribbon, measures around 16 inches tall is weightily firmly stuffed with woodwool, with lovely strong stitched facial features and claw stitching. He has one pad worn from too much paw shaking over the last 100 years, but the others are all in good original condition.
Jonty also has wonderful typical German dark brown painted back glass eyes and a very old clunky mood dependent growler; sometimes it’ll be more just a rattle and quiet … and then other times he’ll full on have a good grunty shout with you ?! – stubborn.
What i love about Jonty .. his old bear shape; lovely chunky torso with humped back, how he sits, super pretty eyes, and also his face!!! .. he has slightly off centre stitching .. and I LOVE IT! He has character.. he’s individual .. and would be a treasure to any hug!
He’s pictured here with his naughty little Mini-Ted friends who have now sold.
