This pair have lived their life together so far, but the time has come for them to move on – together. Both are wood wool or straw stuffed and mostly have lost their mohair fur. Bear has a long muzzle and black thread stitched nose and mouth detail. He has amber and black glass eyes which have obviously at some time been stuck in place, leaving a dark residue in the cloth. His ears are perky and stand up from where they are inset into the seams. He has shaped arms with black thread stitched claws, and drumstick shaped legs with similar claws. All of his pads have been covered with yellow felt years ago. He has a rather portly body with humped back, and possibly has a squeaker inside which makes a noise if thumped! He is wearing an ancient vest or modesty bodice which has a faded label at the back of the neck – BUTTON FRONT BRITISH MADE. He measures 49cm (19″) tall.
His friend Dog is actually a nightdress case with a Lightning brand metal zip running up his back. He has a straw stuffed head with side-mounted ears protruding each side. Possibly he could have been a terrier or dachsund as he has a long shaped body. He has amber and black glass eyes and brown thread nose and mouth detail. His feet have circular thread detail to represent claws and his legs are wired and wood wool stuffed. He has a short stuffed tail and is wearing a metal studded brown leather collar. The interior nightdress compartment is pink cotton. Dog also measures approx. 49cm (19″) long.
