Say hello to Brucie, a lovely, furry, golden Lefray bear who is a huge 36″ tall and in good condition. He has almost all of his lovely golden fur remaining with just a few age-related worn spots, mostly on his ankles. I think he’s from the 1950s as his label (a plain white label with red writing) says ‘Lefray Hygienic Toys Made in England’ and the Lefray company moved to Wales in the 60s. He is very solidly stuffed (feels like straw or wood wool as it’s crunchy) and he’s very heavy! He has original paw pads, with a couple of brown felt patches where there were obviously small holes. He has his original nose and mouth stitching, but his brown glass eyes are replacements (I do have some large amber plastic eyes, that he had when he arrived but he looked very nervous so I swapped them for softer, smaller brown ones – will send the amber plastic ones with him, so you can choose). He is fully jointed (discs) and everything is moving smoothly. He will stand up but his legs are a little wobbly – not surprising for an old gentleman – so he really prefers to sit. Brucie is a gorgeous chubby cuddly bear who is looking for a new home. I’m charging 15.00 to post him, as I think it’s going to be expensive, but I will track down the best way to send him (possibly Hermes as I think I’ll struggle to get him to the post office!) and then send a refund if it’s any less in the end. Really sorry, but will only post within the UK. Will post on the nearest Saturday to receipt of payment.
