Fozzie is a sweet old straw filled mohair bear dating to the 1920s or possibly earlier. He is 12″ tall with glass painted back eyes and a vertical hand stitched nose, with a horizontal finishing stitch top and bottom, very reminiscent of early Farnell bears. He has no paw pads but retains his original foot pads. What makes Fozzie so unusual is that first of all, he has no ears, and looks as if he may never had any!! Secondly, he appears to be pin jointed to both of his arms and one of his legs, with the right leg now simply string jointed. I have tried to photograph these unusual metal rods. Thirdly, although his general body shape, chunky legs and big feet are typically of Farnell bears, his arms are very short! I have had a similar little bear in my possession many years ago, and a reputable teddy bear expert informed me he thought he was Farnell due to the very distinctive nose stitching. We may never know his true origins, but there is no doubt that Fozzie is a dear little fellow with heaos of personality.  His mohair coverage is very good and he is clean and fresh smelling. An adorable, rare old character bear to add to your collection.
