This auction is for a very handsome early 1930’s 21″ Merrythought teddy bear. He has the early Merrythought label stitched to his right foot pad. He also retains some of the ditinctive web claws stitching.
His head is filled with wood-wool, otherwise he is soft filled (probably all kapok), so he is not heavy – although he is a fair sized teddy.
I consider his condition to be good to very good and although he has been loved, he has survived virtually intact – other than the flaws which are highlighted in the pictures and mentioned in the condition report.
The sale includes the vintage cardigan seen in a couple of the images, the Steiff dog is NOT included in the sale and is for display only.
