A gorgeous, original grey-tipped white mohair Steiff Fluffy cat with trailing ‘f’ earbutton c.1920s. Fluffy is stuffed with woodwool, and measures 13 cms (5″) high in her fixed sitting position. She has a swivel head, and is in beautiful condition, with minimal fur loss.
Fluffy has large, back-painted green glass eyes with black slit pupils. Her nose and mouth are hand-embroidered in pinky-peach thread, and a solitary whisker remains, enabling her to judge distances! The grey-tipping detail is still strong with very little fading, and Fluffy is wearing a co-ordinating bell ribbon. This purrrfectly pretty puss travels with her toy mouse.
Fluffy is one of Steiff’s most loved designs among collectors, and their sitting version was produced in nine sizes from 1926-43. Thanks for looking and I won’t be re-listing Fluffy.
