EXTREMELY RARE ANTIQUE STRAW FILLED GERMAN (EUROPEAN) FOOTBALL TEDDY BEAR (RUGBY)
I THINK HE MAY BE A SCHUCO TEDDY BEAR
Comes from my daughters own collection
I am unsure of the date he was made but I think it would be around the early 1930’s
He is approx. 24″ Tall
Original football boots (I think the top of the boots is leather, but I am not 100% sure & a wooden sole)
Shorts are original, but are starting to tear on the left hand side of them
The top is not original (But it does have a French tag on the collar)
He as got a black neck tie around his neck and also a German coloured one
There is stitching on his paws
He has a pointing snout
He has metal in his legs and at the front of his tummy (I would say this is to help to display him)
He has button eyes which are light amber around the outside and dark amber in the middle
He as mohair legs, arms, head and V-shaped chest all joining onto an Hessian body (The way the teddy was designed the mohair on his legs only go up to just below his thighs, it goes up to half way on his arms & he has mohair in the shape of a v on the front of his chest, it then joins onto the Hessian body, where it is not meant be any mohair on it)
He has no holes on his body and he comes in great condition for his age
He still has 60% of his mohair
He is an very old beautiful bear looking for an forever home
I Will be listing more of my daughters collectable teddies
