ENDEARING LITTLE C1921 ALPHA FARNELL HALLOWEEN CAT WITH ORIGINAL MAKERS LABEL
This pretty little antique black cat made in England by Alpha Farnell, still retains his (stitched on) makers label (blue lettering on white background) which dates him as being made in the early 1920’s. He is small enough to stand on the palm of your hand, measuring approximately 4½ inches in height from paw to ear, 7 inches in height from paw to tail, and 5½ inches in length from nose to tail. He is made of black mohair which has very light age related fading and has (original) felt ears which are complete and undamaged. His bushy tail is long pile black mohair. He is filled entirely with wood wool which is still very firm and evenly distributed and his (original) seam stitching has no tears or repairs. He is unjointed, permenantly in a standing position with his back arched. He is very well balanced and does not need any form of support to stand. He has original stitched in green glass eyes, and original red stitched nose and muzzle. His mohair has a lovely soft muted sheen to it and retains approximately 98% coverage. He is a very clean little cat with no musty or unpleasant odours. He has no serious faults or damage, and other than the very minor age-related fading to his mohair he has hardly any playwear. Considering that he is close to 100 years old he is in very good condition. He is an endearing little cat with much charm.His antique silk scarlet ribbon and brass bell are not original to him, but they are of course, included in the sale. HE IS A CHARMING EXAMPLE OF AN ANTIQUE ALPHA FARNELL CAT & HE DISPLAYS BEAUTIFULLY.
