This lovely terrier dog is most unusual as he has springs in the legs. This is an identifying feature of ISA animals, (Isaacs and co) which was taken over by Chad Valley in 1923.
He has the Chad Valley metal rimmed celluloid button in the underside of the ear, which reads … Chad valley  British Made, though no ISA i.d.
He dates to the 1920’s and has a good mohair coverage, though there are some thinning areas, mainly on the legs.
He has clear glass eyes with remains of  paint on the backs, and some original nose stitching (I think some stitching has been added over the years.)
There have been some small repairs to the material on the legs where I presume the springs were showing through, and the pads have had a few repairs. I don’t think I am able to improve on these so I will leave that to his new owner to tidy him up a bit.
He is a nice large dog measuring approx 20 inches long x 14 inches high.
He is straw (wood wool) filled, and he is clean with no unpleasant odours. The springs are still nice and bouncy
