This little teddy bear is almost certainly by Farnell, and I estimate he dates to post WWII, probably early 1950’s era.
He is made for a lovely quality golden mohair, unusually has yellow felt paw pads, with web claws stitching, and also rather unusually, he has white mohair inner ears
I have provided a fairly detailed written condition report, so please do take the time to read this, but just as importantly, please do view all of the images as these are likely to be the most help in assessing his lovely condition.
I have called this sweet little bear, “Chubs”, not perhaps especially original, but I think it suits him!
Chubs is a bit of a mystery because he definitely has Farnell characteristics, and for reference, I have shown him seated on a page from Kathy Martin’s Farnell teddy book.
You will see he is very similar to some Alpha Farnell teds, but I suppose it is possible he is by Merrythought because they, too, used yellow felt and the web claws on some of their teddy bears.
