Dears ‘Original’ 1960 Antique Vintage Old Teddy Bear with his Dean’s ‘Childplay’ Label attached (restoration project). Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class.
Say Hi to ‘Goldie’. He is a Deans Original from the 1960 and has been in our family from New.
Deans are the oldest Bear Makers in Britain and what better Bear to have than a Deans restoration project from the pinnacle of British Bears.
Goldie stands a GIANT 27″ tall and as you can see from the pictures, requires some TLC from a Collector or a Bear Hospital so he can be restored to ‘near’ his former glory. The mohair has aged but is of the ‘Patina’ you would expect of a Vintage Bear that is over 60 years old.
Fully articulated, he has his original Deans ‘Childplay’ Tag which indicates a lot of information to Vintage & Antique Bear Collectors, but essentially means he was a Teddy they made from 1960. He was a Bright Gold Mohair in his day with Burgundy Velvet Pads. His stuffing, which is a mixture of Straw & Kapok has become very hard over the years and his ‘growl’ has give up the ghost.
As you can see, his original ‘rubber nose’ is missing and mouth stitching has come undone a little, plus his right pad has been attacked during storage? (We kept socks on him for many years)!
Overall, I would class him average condition for his age as he is the same age as my Husband and he doesn’t look this good most days !!
Looking for a loving and sympathetic home for Goldie and I am willing to accept reasonable offers or I may keep him and refurbish him myself.
