Well, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything quite so cute! This charming little doggie is extremely old, I would think c1910-1915, and is fully articulated with disc jointed head and legs.

I’m just wondering if he might be a Caesar dog ,which was made by several different firms, such as Steiff and Farnell, with these jointed legs. Caesar of course was the beloved dog of Edward VII who endeared himself to the nation when he walked beside his masters coffin.

This little fella has such a quirky face with his glass eyes slightly askew, which only adds to his charm.

He is made from a white mohair, which is a short pile, very sparse in places, but as the backing material is the same colour this doesn’t detract that much. He has all his claw stitching intact.

He is structurally in good condition with no holes.

Being fully articulated he is very versatile, and can stand, sit, crouch, beg, lie down and do all the things a normal dog can.

He likes nothing better than to stand looking out the window, watching for any cats that might stroll into the garden.

He measures approx 9 inches from nose to tip of tail, and when standing measures approx 4 inches high. He is small enough to sit on your hand,so a nice little cabinet item.

This dog is most likely to appeal to the lover of waif and strays, as he is not the best looking dog in the world, but I think he could be the cutest!
