CHARMING LITTLE ANTIQUE C1870
VICTORIAN VELVET PINCUSHION DOG 3½”
This delighful antique Victorian pincushion dog is handmade and dates from circa 1870He is of English origin and measures just 3½ inches in height.
He is made of dark brown and mustard coloured velvet and is sawdust filled. He has original (stitched in) tiny black glass bead eyes and red stitched nose and muzzle.
He is wearing a green and gold embroidered collar embellished with little antique bronze beads and a bell. His collar does not appear to have ever been removed, and to the best of my knowledge it is original to him.
He is timeworn and somewhat fragile, but he is after all, 150 years old. His velvet is worn and he has a very old brown velvet patch on the right side of his back, old repairs around some of his seams, and a couple of very small, neat old darns… all of which are shown clearly and accurately in the listing photographs.
His ears are a little ragged and frayed around the edges, but they are complete and still firmly attached, and
curled tail is stitched to him. His sawdust filling is still quite firm and he has no leaking seams.He is a worn but charming little survivor from a bygone age. HE IS A VERY ENDEARING LITTLE DOG WITH A GREAT DEAL OF GENTLE CHARM

My listing photographs are always taken outdoors in good light in order to show the item as accurately and clearly as possible.
Also, please remember that although the items I sell were orginally children’s toys, they are now antique collecter items – they are not suitable for children, or safe for children. They do not conform with todays safety standards, and must be regarded as antique collectors items only.
Every item I list on eBay is offered for sale at a very low starting price and without a reserve.
I never end auction listings early, as I feel it is unfair and disappointing to other bidders and watchers, many of whom wait till the auction is close to end time before bidding.
