This old bear has lost an armat some time during his long life. Still a friendly looking old boywith a lot of love to give his new owner.
Measuresabout 20 inches.
Nolabel but definitely English. I think he might be a Merrythought.Looks to date from the 1940s.
Strawtype filling to his lower body and snout. Otherwise the filling is asoft kapok type material.
Goldenmohair coat. Lost quite a bit of hair. About 50% remaining.
Largeglass eyes. These are probably replacements but suit him well.
Stitchednose and mouth. The nose looks original but the mouth has beenrepaired (badly).
Workingjoints to legs and remaining arm. The missing arm still has itsjoint.
Originalvelvet type pads.
Itsounds as though there is a growling mechanism inside but it doesnot work.
Condition. One arm missing.The neck joint does not work and is stitched in place (it feels asthough both discs are still there). Saggy filling in places particularly to the top of one leg. The same leg has an old repair.Ears been re-attached at some time. Clean coat with the typicalvanilla scent of old mohair. From a non smoking pet free home.
