Bluey is an appealing early version of Chad Valley’s very popular and collectable Cubby Bear. He is 12″ tall with blue glass eyes, a stitched nose and mouth and jointed arms and head. He is kapok filled and has a working bellows mechanism in his tummy which when gently pressed plays a tune, not sure what is is but I think if you got the right rhythm going in pressing it would become more recognisable. He has had most of of his art silk fur loved off over the years leaving his front completely bald and his back with only around 60% coverage. His footpads are pretty wrecked (see pics) although his paw pads are in good shape. He has a repairs to his right ear. He has an embroidered label on his left leg which reads ” Hygienic Toys Made in England by Chad Valley Co Ltd” has had various loving repairs over the years. Despite his shortcomings he has a lovely appealing face and his working bellows music mechanism makes him very unusual and hard ti find. He is clean and fresh smelling and would make an adorable addition to any old bear collection.
