Well, here we have my treasured Chiltern Panda bear. Much loved Panda that was given to me as a gift from an elderly lady I worked with when I left my old job. This Panda was hers as a child during the 1940s; she (the Panda and lady) lived together in Portsmouth during the second world war and they saw much action together, including bombing raids, air raid shelters and plenty of wild tricycle rides! Shes been given some lipstick circa 1946-ish (to look like mummy) and its never gone. Also seems so have a tummy stain but Im assured its most likely to be a food or drink stain and nothing worse!This Panda is in typical play-worn condition. Shes been loved, played with and treasured, cuddled until she went almost-bald…but now its time for me to hand her over to someone who can look after her better than I can. I was going to get the lipstick and stain removed but somehow that feels as though Id be stripping away her life story so Ive kept her as-is. I like her better that way.She measures 13 ish inches tall, still has a little mohair left. Original glass eyes intact. Squeaker not working. A small hole to underarm. Joints move freely. Belly button area wearing thin from pressing squeaker. Just a super-sweet old panda bear.At the moment Im having extensive building work done at home and my house is covered in nasty plaster dust which is likely to ruin my bears, so its time for them to find a new home somewhere safe and clean. Ive set a realistic reserve on this Panda. Ill let the auction run so no offers privately please.
