Petersfield Bear Museum – Schuco? Standing Polar Bear
This is Steady Eddie. He’s a 1920’s-30’s Polar Bear who was on display in the Petersfield Teddy Bear Museum. His make is bit of a mystery to me but he does have a lot of Schuco characteristics to him. Due to his build quality i’m sure he’s been made by one of the main bear manufacturers. Eddie stands around 12 inches tall and is in a standing position, fully stuffed with woodwool and covered in art silk. He has felt pads with card lined feet, felt mouth and tongue with stitched claws, nose and lovely painted back glass eyes.He can be seen here with his fellow museum friend Cobble who is also looking for a home. He’s a very cute chappy, better in real life with his cute pose, and would make an excellent addition for any vintage toy or bear collector, and Eddie will be pleased to gain a fur-ever home.I have lots of museum items listed and still to list.
