Antique Vintage REAL SHEEPSKIN/SHEARLING 18inch Jointed Teddy Bear
Bear has a growler/ squeaker in him which does not work but you can see the wear on his back where he has been continuously pressed. He is a little patchy worn on paw tips. He is a bit squashed looking. Otherwise really remarkable condition overall.
This patchy area show he is made from real shearling skin and wool..
He is heavy, his paws and feet are stiff. His stuffing feels firm but not wood or sawdust or straw type.
I do not know his age but he has been in my attic for at least 30 years. I have suggested 1930s as this is when real sheepskin bears were generally made.
Its possible that his felt paws are replacements. His nose looks like it is stitched from some old sock darning wool, his right whisker has frayed.
He may also have had replacement eyes as they are loose plastic.
No makers label.
His arms and legs are articulated. His head is not. he has lovely big ears.
Definitely not a child’s toy. Clean all over.
MR BEAR IS VERY WARM AND FRIENDLY AND WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR COLLECTION
Condition is “Used”.
