This totally charming Antique / Vintage mohair Black Cat Teddy Bear with a wonderfully bushy tail dates I believe to around 1940 or thereabouts.
I believe that he is English in origin. He is straw filled with a arched back .He stands approximately 16 inches high from paw to his tail tip and measures approximately 10 inches in length. From top of ears to paw 9 inches.His eyes are green glass and his nose and mouth hand stitched.He retains his whiskers which I believe are horse hair. His tail rattles when you shake him.He is in vary good vintage condition, with only very minor signs of wear commensurate with age and use.
