A rare antique Chiltern Einco Master Teddy, with googly eyes and in original clothes: a pink striped shirt with Eton collar, blue felt trousers with a red patch and striped braces fixed with red buttons. It still has its original label bearing the words:Reg. no. 646272Master TeddyMade in EnglandUSA Pat. Applied ForThe reverse of the label bears the name Einco for Eisenmann & Co., founders of the Chiltern toy company in the late 19th century. Master Teddy was Chiltern’s first bear, produced from around 1915 to 1920. He is a comical-looking bear with straight legs, curved arms, a mohair head, paws and feet and a cloth body. He has a smiling mouth with a little pink embroidered tongue.He is in good condition with minor rubbing to the mohair and fading to the fabric clothes. The label is a little creased. This Master Teddy measures about 7.5 inches ( 19 cm.) high.The photos can be enlarged for more detail – please take care to look at all 12 photos to see the details of this rare little bear.I guarantee that this is a genuine antique Master Teddy, circa 1916, and not a reproduction.
