Plea to all bear lovers, can anyone give a home to Albert. He is a beautiful 26 inch Chad valley bear dating back to 1930s who has suffered terrible abuse. I don’t know much about his history as I only bought him this week at auction as I felt sorry for him,
It looks to me like this beautiful bear was beginning to show signs of wear so his previous owner had covered his nose and part of his head in a sort of sugar glue substance, they had also stuck on new pads with the same stuff. Which is a bit of a shame because his pads looked reasonably OK underneath. His eyes are original and despite all this looked a happy chap. Just as he though his ordeal was over I took him home and immediately put him in the freezer. I have managed to brush some glue away and he looks better already. However the fabric on his snout is very delicate so didn’t want to do too much. Would love to keep him but I’ve already promised my husband I’d downsize my collection , so under threat of divorce he has to go.
