LIKE MOST 100+ YEAR OLD MECHANICAL AUTOMATONS, THE ACTIONS ARE NOT AS SMOOTH AS WHEN NEW….USUALLY THROUGH SIMPLE BUILD UP OF DUST/GRIME ON THEIR MOVEMENTS. (they are simply like antique clock movements; but as clocks have more accessible workings, they get serviced and cleaned over the years).OCCASSIONALLY WHEN WOUND UP AND ACTIVATING THE START LEVER, HE MAY SOMETIMES HESITATE AND NEED LIGHT ENCOURAGEMENT WITH CAREFUL TILTING UP OR KEY TWIDDLING ( but don’t be tempted to keep winding up the spring, as this is how most examples are broken).You can also simply place your finger on the drive gear up between their lower legs, and give tiny encouragement/twiddle to it.the lower jaws on these bears are weighted to open more with the head turned left, and slowly close as they face turns forwards (you can carefully use your finger to lower his jaw more prominantly when displayed with head to one side

RETAINS NICE MOUTH DETAIL WITH RED GUMS, TONGUE; AND UPPER AND LOWER TEETH……..AND HIS NOSE STILL INTACT
HE HAS A GOOD LOOKING EXPRESSION TO HIS FACE.
