This is Chico, a lovely old Chow-Chow Dog, dating to the 1930/40’s who is looking for a very special new home, just in time for Christmas.
He has glass eyes and the original black, moulded plastic nose and mouth stitching.
This sweet Chow-Chow Dog is made creamy, off-white mohair / wool plush fabric, he has a very good coverage overall with just a little bit of wear to the edges of his ears, and a small worn patch on the top of his head, which can be seen in my pictures.
Chico was designed in a seated position and has a jointed head, so he’s able to have a good look all around him. The ribbon around his neck is a newer addition, but suits him very well.I can feel some wiring in his front legs, which helps to support him and ensure that he sits upright.
He has three stitched claws on each of his feet, and a lovely curly tail.
I believe he dates to the 1930/40’s and he measures 11 inches tall in his seated position.
All in all, Chico is an adorable little doggy, and is hoping to a find a new home in time for Christmas.
A very sweet example of an early Chow-Chow dog and a lovely addition to any hug of old bears. However I am trying to downsize my collection a little, and have reluctantly decided it’s time for her to find a new home.
