Schuco Rolly Bear circa 1954 US Zone

This fab Schuco Rolly bear was made by the firm of Schreyer & Co in the US zone of Germany around 1954. This was copied from the original Bing design from 1908. It is a clockwork bear that pushes itself along in a cross-country motion using the stick. Unfortunately this one doesn’t work anymore as he has probably been overwound in the past. Aside from this he is in great condition with at least 90% of his mohair remaining and still retaining his original yellow scarf. He has glass eyes and in all original condition with the only small fault being a small hole in the hand pad with the stick. He is officially 22cm although he measures closer to 23cm. His head is factory sewn on as it is not intended to move. Still a fantastic display piece. Thanks for looking.
