A Rare Vintage Chad Valley Cubby Bear dating from the 1930s, so-called because these sweet looking bears resemble bear cubs, with two-tone alpaca plush, orange and black glass eyes, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, in a seated position, jointed arms and neck, general wear and tear, tiny hole and repair to chest, see photographs, a little hair loss, the two colours of cinnamon and blonde are still distinct, some later repair and replacement to paw pads, one of which is partially detached revealing the original paw pad covering underneath and one arm paw pad has a hole (See photographs). Height 12 seated. There is a Hygienic Toys Made in England by Chad Valley Co Ltd cloth label attached to the inside of the Cubbys leg. A lovely aged bear with lots of character.
