This handsome teddy was made in Ireland, with his label which I believe dates him to the 1950’s.He does have a few faults which I will describe so please be aware of this before buying.He is made from a lovely white mohair, and someone decided to dress him as a clown, with a sewn on felt hat, and a neck ruffle. Unfortunately at some time the red dye from the felt has stained the mohair in places, so there are patches of pink here and there where it has stained….not sure if this can be removed?He has velveteen pads, and one foot pad has had a repair, but all the other pads are good.He is 5 way jointed and all the joints work well.He has his original glass eyes, and original nose and mouth stitching.He has an internal growler which only works if he is shaken roughly! (He doesn’t like this, and shows his disapproval with a growl!) so he’s looking for a kind loving home.The bear itself measures approx 17 inches (more of course with the hat) , and he’s a fine, impressive looking fellow despite his faults.
