Wonderful antique character stuffed monkey dressed as a Dandy complete with cane and cigar. He has so much character and is probably from the 1920’s or even earlier.His head is made from Mohair with a felt face and glass eyes. His body is very well detailed and is mostly made of felt for his suit with cotton shirt and lovely large wooden feet painted to look like spats. His body is stuffed with straw and he has a wire framework armature. I haven’t been able to find any manufacturers mark or identify him in any way but he is very well made and detailed. Considering his age there is some fading to the felt but it is not too bad and does not detract from his charm. There is also some moth damage and small holes but nothing too major and he displays so well.One of his pocket flaps on his jacket seems to be missing but possibly his arm was sewn down at one time. He has a little cane and a cigar in his mouth. He would make a wonderful Christmas present for the dandy in your life!! If you would like more information or photos please contact me.
