VINTAGE TINKA BELL 1960s SHEEPSKIN RABBIT 13 1/2 INCHES PLUMMER WANDLESS AND CO.
Here is a vintage collectable soft toy, a sheepskin rabbit by Tinka Bell, made in England.
He was produced by the company of Plummer Wandless and Co., who were based in Sussex from the 1940s to the early 1970s.
I think this particular soft toy dates from the 1960s, as I have had him over 50 years, since I was a baby.
Originally a lovely pink colour, (you can still see the original colour in between his ears and legs) he is now very faded. He has a cream coloured tail. He has a hard brown felt nose, a hand stitched mouth, brown felt ears, and amber and black eyes. He is not jointed. He has his original blue ribbon, and a sewn-in Tinka Bell label in his left leg seam. He measures approximately 13 1/2 inches in height.
This is a lovely and unusual collectable (despite the fading) from a company more commonly known for their teddy bears.
