Manufactured by Plummer & Wandless who specialised in sheepskin bears in the 1950s.
The company was formed by Daphne Plummer and her husband John and traded from 1946-1972.
Several manufacturers were established in the UK after World War II. Due to the rationing of mohair, the companies made teddy bears out of sheepskin, a material that remained popular until the 1960s.
Pre-owned. Offered in much played with condition. Everything intact but worn. Tilt growler not working. Frankly his right ear, left eye and nose look as if he has been scrapping although he flatly denies it. If anybody can put him back on the straight-and-narrow please apply with a bid!
