Meet Beattie and Buddy, two lovely old Chiltern teddy bears who date from 1920s-30s. Buddy is 15 tall and has a lot of original features. He is very solidly stuffed throughout (wood wool) and fully jointed, but his arm joints are very stiff, with a little more flexibility in his legs. His head moves from left to right, but wont turn all the way round as there are a couple of stitches at the back of his neck holding it in place. Paw pads are original, although a bit grubby, and he has original nose, mouth and claw stitching remaining. His clear glass eyes look like they are original and once had painted backs. He has some of his dark gold mohair remaining, but has a lot of bald patches, too. He has some pink marks on his chest, but they show up less in reality than they do in the picture, and he has two brown marks on his face above his eye. He has a small hump. Beattie is the smaller of the two at 13. She has very little of her light golden mohair remaining, with some very threadbare areas on both sides of her face (see pics). She also has a hole at the top of one leg and also around the joint on the same leg – have tried to photograph as clearly as possible. Her paw pads are in good condition – possibly rexine, but certainly some sort of waxed fabric. She is fully jointed and all are moving. Her head is solidly stuffed (wood wool) and her body and legs are stuffed with something softer and are a bit saggy. Mouth and nose stitching is original. She has amber glass eyes – not sure if these are original or not as theyve been lightly glued in place. One side of her head, below her ear, is slightly pushed in. She has a non-working squeaker in her tummy.Beattie and Buddy are two lovely old friends who are looking for a new home together.Really sorry, will only post within the UK.
