Lovely antique teddy bear
Unknown maker – and unknown exact age – If anyone has any ideas please tell me!! My guess is 1950’s??
This bear is in good sound condition for his age. He is a good quality bear. And ‘Bears’ resemblance to Steiff bears of the 50’s with the tail operated head movement.
Some bald patches of mohair.
Unfortunately the fabric pads on his paws have deteriorated showing the wood fibre / straw he is stuffed with.
His joints are in good condition
His tail is a little metal handle that when moved from side to side turns his head.
I can feel a press button in his chest they may at one time made a ‘growl’ sound but this is not working.
He has boot button eyes and a stitched wool nose.
Laid flat he measures approx 16″ long.
A lovely old bear who would benefit from some tlc!
