Say hello to dear little Chad, a 1950s (?) Chad Valley Hygienic toy. He has a working growler, although the growl is a short one! He is 16″ tall and has a pretty good coverage of golden brown mohair with a few areas where it’s a little more sparse. I would say he’s had a little work done at some point as his paw pads have been replaced – very neatly – with brown felt. The label on his foot pad has been reattached, but is pretty much impossible to read. The label under his arm is much clearer, although small (see photos). He is fully jointed. His eyes are dark amber and feel like glass. His nose and mouth stitching are very tidy and, again, I think, could have been part of a very good restoration. He is a lovely, clean bear who is looking for a new home. I will post on the nearest Saturday after receipt of payment.
