Appealing little 6 1/2 ins teddy bear in need of some minor nursing care.
There are no identifying labels. I have tried to do some research to put a date on him
and my best guess would be late 1930s/40s.
I think he is mohair – most of it is still there.
His limbs are all sewn on – a few threads have come loose.
There is a small split to the seam of one leg through which you can just see the stuffing and he
looks to be stuffed with rags/fabric. There is also a smaller seam split to one arm.
He has short, stubby arms, two brown glass eyes, an embroidered nose but no mouth.
The ends of his arms/legs are just stitched together – no pads.
Perhaps he was hand made for a child during WW2?
