Vintage 1940’s
Chiltern Hugmee Teddy Bear

Howie has been loved during his lifetime and is a real character

Howie is 20″ / 51 cm tall, 5 way jointed with a golden mohair fur, amber and black glass eyes and a vertically stitched shield shaped black nose and mouth
He is a flat nosed 1940’s Hugmee (to save on material during the war, Chiltern made the noses flatter!). He does have the remains of 4 claws to his paws and pads. He has pointy feet and his original rexine pads, with wear as per the photographs – he has old yellowed Sellotape around his left foot pad (to stop the straw / wood wool from coming out of the hole at the back of his pad). He has been held by the top of his arms over the years and may benefit from a little more wood wool filling. His mohair fur has thinned over the years of being loved, as per the photographs…but he has bags of character
He has an in-operative growler in his tummy
Howie has been living in the attic for several years and would love to find a new loving family to either take him as he is or give him a ‘make over’
I am virus free and have been self isolating since the end of February
