This poor old Merrythought panda teddy has lots of mohair loss as you can see, and damage to three of his black felt pads. He has a rather serious look.
He has the Merrythought Hygienic toys label on his foot dating him to the 1930’s.
He has his original brown nose and mouth stitching, and his eyes are clear glass with white ends. I haven’t seen this type of eye on these Merrythought pandas before , though they do look original. If not, they have certainly been there for a very long time.
He measures 17 inches and is filled with kapok. He is five way jointed and all joints work well.
He really is an odd looking chap, with a rather lopsided face…one eye patch is higher than the other, but somehow this gives him a great look…full of character.
He will need TLC obviously, but despite his poor condition, there are no unpleasant odours.
