ISA Toys Donkeyc 19208.5″ long x 5″ high
This rare ISA Animated Toys Donkey patent number 21458/14 is an early one with the metal plate riveted to the belly. Isaacs started making toys in around 1915 due to the ban on German imports. They specialised in animated toys with springs in the legs but were bought out by Chad Valley in the early 1920’s after which they no longer had the metal label.This Donkey has a large hole in the leg where the spring is poking through plus four other small holes in the legs. There is also a stitched repair to the throat. He retains around 50% of his mohair and has glass bead eyes.Thanks for looking.
