Very Early English Bearc1915Possibly Teddy Toy Company
This is a sweet early English bear that looks like a Farnell but is possibly made by Teddy Toy Company around 1915 when they started. He measures 18″ tall when standing on his card lined feet. He retains around 35% of his originally gold mohair that has now faded to blonde with baldness to his front, back and back of right leg. He is stuffed mainly with soft stuffing and a little bit of wood wool and has a non working punch bag growler. He has had some expert restoration in the past with ears backed and a replacement right foot that has been done so well that it is very hard to spot. He has boot button eyes which may be replacements and has recovered pads. His nose stitching is mostly original with a few added stitches. All joints move freely.Thanks for looking.
