A very unusual 15 inch vintage bear with a very long pile mohair coat which is cream with rust coloured tips. Frankie has no identifying tags or labels. He is fully jointed with a stitched black wool nose, mouth and claws. He has unfortunately lost his original eyes and a former owner has given him 2 mother of pearl button eyes. His paw pads are light coloured felt with black stitched claws. He has no holes or tears and apart from the loss of his original eyes and a loose stitch on the right side if his mouth he’s is in very good condition. All his joints are sound and work smoothly. He is firmly stuffed and has a non working growler.
I’ve collected bears for many years but have not seen a mohair like this before. I believe he would have been an expensive item when new.
Frankie comes from a non smoking and pet free home and would make a unique addition to anyone’s collection.
