First bear is approx 8 inches high. He has no ears! He has joints at neck, arms and legs, and small clear glass eyes with black pupils. He is quite firm and seems to be filled with wood shavings, and has rather compacted hair which was a deep gold colour. The pads of his arms and legs are a cotton twill fabric with embroidered claw details.
Second bear has been partially dismembered, but limbs are all present. He is very tiny and only measures just over 4 inches. He has small amber glass eyes, cotton fabric paw pads, and embroidered details to face and claws.
I don’t know the exact age of these teddies as they came to me in 1963 via my grandma who had 5 children born between 1933 and 1951. They have always been tatty, so it’s probable that they originally belonged to the older children.
