Really sweet little ted, probably by Deans Rag Book….
This little chap is unjointed, made of mohair and has glass eyes. He has no labels or other ID but his features and ears point to him being a Deans bear, probably made in a time of austerity around the war in the ’40’s.
I would say he is stuffed with a mixture of wood wool and something softer, maybe kapok or cotton waste. His mohair is fairly good still, no obvious big bald patches, but he does look a little thin in places, a bit dusty and has the odd tiny mark. There are also a few loose stitches and signs of a bit of restitching on his front seam. He has slightly grubby linen paw pads, and no foot pads, instead he looks like he is wearing Turkish slippers! ;-)
Overall, a really cute bear with a lovely face, looking for a new forever home. He comes from a pet and smoke free home here.
