Lovely little early teddy bear possibly German/Steiff?? Measuring approximately 13″ in height.
Fully jointed – head rather wobbly and joints a little loose. Made from a golden brownish coloured mohair, worn/balding in places typical for age – not sure how old, but black “boot button” eyes typical of an early bear of 1920s/1930s.
Unshaved muzzle with original black stitched nose and mouth – left ear needs a little restitching at its base.
Filled with a mixture of wood wool and kapok stuffing with a non working squeaker in his tummy.
Unusual paw pads – looks as though these have been formed by trimming away mohair rather than separate pads. Feet pads been replaced in the past and a name tag of P A Maddison has been sewn onto right foot pad.
